How far is the ferry terminal?

Ferries to Ceuta and Tanger Med leave from the Estación Marítima, the port's passenger terminal. It is about 800 metres from our door in a straight line; by road it is about 3 km, roughly 5–6 minutes by car or taxi. Approximate distances from the restaurant:

  • Ferry terminal (Estación Marítima) — about 800 m in a straight line; about 3 km by road, 5–6 minutes by car or taxi.
  • San Bernardo bus station — about 1 km, around a 13-minute walk.
  • Algeciras train station — about 1.1 km, around a 15-minute walk.
  • Plaza Alta — about 200 m, around a 3-minute walk. It is the easiest landmark in the town centre.

Walking from the port? We would rather not give you a walking time we have not been able to check: it depends on which exit you take and how much luggage you have. The most reliable option is to get directions from the ferry terminal on Google Maps. If you come by taxi, show the driver our address: Calle Sáenz Laguna, 15.

Spanish meal times and our opening hours

Meal times in Spain run later than in the UK or northern Europe, and ours are no exception. Check the day of your crossing before you plan around us:

  • Lunch — Tuesday to Saturday, 13:00 to 16:00 (1 pm to 4 pm).
  • Dinner — Tuesday to Saturday, 21:00 to 01:00 (9 pm to 1 am).
  • Sunday and Monday — closed. If you sail on one of those days, we cannot feed you, sorry.

Coming back from Morocco or Ceuta and arriving late in the evening? Send us a WhatsApp message first to check we can still seat you. It takes a minute and saves you a wasted trip.

Short on time before your crossing?

We will be straight with you: our meat is grilled over wood piece by piece, cooked the way you ask for it, and that cannot be rushed without spoiling it. If you have a boat to catch, tell us your sailing time when you book or as soon as you sit down, and go for tapas or something from the sea. The chuletón deserves a visit without the clock running.

Short on time

Ibérico cured meats, prawn toast, mussels marinara, tiger prawns or the melva salad. Tell us when you need to be at the port and we will point you to what can come out sooner.

Plenty of time

Irish beef chuletón (bone-in rib steak), fillet or entrecôte from the wood fire. For dessert, Manchego cheesecake or torrijas.

Travelling as a group

No deposit and no set menu required. A seafood platter or Ibérico cured meats in the middle, and everyone orders what they like.

Every dish, in English with its Spanish name, is on our English menu. There is also a printed menu in English at the restaurant: ask for it when you sit down.

Travelling with a dog or in a wheelchair

When you have a boat to catch, the menu is rarely the only thing on your mind, so here are the practical details in short:

  • Dogs — welcome. If you are travelling with yours, it can come with you.
  • Wheelchair access — the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.
  • Terrace — yes. If you would like to sit outside, ask for it when you book.
  • Payment — cards accepted, and Bizum if you use it.
