We are a wood-fired steakhouse at Calle Sáenz Laguna 15, in the centre of Algeciras, open Tuesday to Saturday, 13:00–16:00 and 21:00–01:00. Booking is not essential, but we recommend it on Friday and Saturday nights.

How to book a table in Algeciras
We handle bookings ourselves — there is always someone from the restaurant at the other end, not an automated system — so the quickest ways to reach us are the phone and WhatsApp. All three channels use the same number.

We are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Saturday is the last day of our week, and we open for both sittings.
When it is worth booking ahead
We grill over wood piece by piece, so when the restaurant is busy the kitchen works to the rhythm of the grill and tables go quickly. As a general rule it is worth booking ahead at these times:
- Friday and Saturday nights — the busiest sittings of the week.
- The eve of a public holiday — these behave like a Friday, even midweek.
- Christmas and New Year — work, family and friends' meals all land in a few weeks.
- Groups — the more of you there are, the more notice helps so we can put tables together.
Outside those peaks — midweek and at lunchtime — there is usually more room. Even so, a quick call before you set off never hurts: we will tell you how the dining room looks right then.
Coming as a group?
We do not ask for a deposit and we do not make you agree a set menu in advance: you eat from the menu like any other table. We just ask you to let us know when you book, so we can get the space ready for you.
Where we are
We are at Calle Sáenz Laguna 15, 11201 Algeciras (Cádiz), in the centre of town — about 3 km by road from the Algeciras ferry terminal and roughly 25 minutes by car from the Gibraltar border.

No, booking is not essential at La Taberna del Loco — you are welcome to walk in. We do recommend booking for Friday and Saturday nights, which are the busiest, ideally 24 hours ahead.

La Taberna del Loco is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 13:00 to 16:00 for lunch and from 21:00 to 01:00 for dinner. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Can I book for a large group?
Yes. At La Taberna del Loco, groups do not need to pay a deposit and are not required to order a set menu — you eat à la carte like any other table. Just let us know when you book so we can set the space up for you, and give us a little more notice so we can put tables together.
How far ahead should I book?
About 24 hours is enough most of the time. For Friday and Saturday nights, the eve of a public holiday, and the Christmas and New Year weeks, it is worth booking further ahead, because those are the times that fill up first.
Can I book online, and is there a deposit?
La Taberna del Loco takes bookings by phone, WhatsApp and email — there is a person from the restaurant at the other end, not an automated system — and we do not ask for a deposit. If you would rather read the menu first, it is on our English menu page.
